Main Story

Help the families at the shore, work out how the mist behaves, and try the river again with firewood aboard.

Talk to Aunt Yunxiang

Find Aunt Yunxiang beside the sacks under the torn canvas shelter. Speak with her and Little Taobao to learn what the family needs.

Aunt Yunxiang is beside the sacks under the damaged shelter.
The selected story marker is Aunt Yunxiang’s camp on the northern shore.

Find a pair of kids' shoes

Sun Ping is sitting among the bundled rushes beside the water, close to a moored small boat. Speak with him about shoes for Little Taobao. He asks you to help finish a pair.

Sun Ping sits between the rush bundles on the shore.

Make straw shoes

Stand beside Sun Ping and choose Weave Straw Shoes (F on the PC layout shown). This gives you a pair of woven straw sandals. Return to Aunt Yunxiang and Little Taobao beside the cooking pot under the shelter and hand them over.

The Weave Straw Shoes interaction appears beside Sun Ping.
Bring the sandals back to the family beside the pot under the shelter.

Heal Huang Xiaomao

Huang Xiaomao is seated against the large rock next to Aunt Chunhua and Huang Damao, beside the wooden pier. Use Wind Sense (opens in a new tab) (V on the PC layout), target Huang Xiaomao and open the treatment interaction. Select Slight Fever, then Start Treatment (Space on the PC screen shown). Finish the healing sequence and the conversation with Aunt Chunhua.

Ask Brother Biao for details

From the pier, walk along the bank toward the stacked firewood. Brother Biao is at the story diamond near Zhang Niu and the wooden shelter. Speak with him about fuel for the crossing.

Brother Biao's story marker is next to the firewood stack on the bank.

Deliver the firewood to Aunt Chunhua

Take the firewood back to Aunt Chunhua beside the shoreline rock and finish her conversation. This supplies the clue needed for the deduction about crossing the mist.

Return to Aunt Chunhua with the firewood.

Seek a way to break the deadlock

Open View Clue (L on the PC layout), then enter the deduction. Select two clues and use Link Clues (Space) to combine them.

First link the clue about mist hiding the Haven with the clue about drifting back across the river. Link the resulting Hidden Mountain clue with the refugees' reason for crossing. For the crossing method, link the drifting-back clue with the clue about keeping the fire burning. Finally combine the new fire-and-mist clue with the small boat's limited firewood. The deduction concludes that the crossing needs more firewood.

Select two clues, then use Link Clues. The first connection explains the shrouding mist.
Combine the new fire-and-mist clue with the small boat's limited firewood.

Get on board and try to cross the river again

Return to the marked small boat at the pier. Board and use the oar to start the second attempt, now carrying firewood.

The small boat at the pier is ready for another crossing.

Try to cross the river

Steer into the mist again. The firewood counter appears on the sailing display. Keep moving toward the story marker until the voices trigger a new objective.

The second crossing adds a firewood supply to the boat.

Approach the source of the sound

Turn toward the voices in the mist and sail closer to the marker. Use Wind Sense (opens in a new tab) (V on PC) to reveal the pale swirls on the water that mark the next route.

Sail toward the sound in the mist.

Follow the whirlpools

With Wind Sense (opens in a new tab) active, steer through the pale whirlpools on the water, moving from the nearest swirl to the next. Keep following the marked current until you reach Aunt Chunhua's boat.

Wind Sense reveals the whirlpools leading onward through the mist.

Talk to Aunt Chunhua

Pull alongside Aunt Chunhua's boat. Move close enough for the Small Boat interaction and finish the conversation with the family.

Approach Aunt Chunhua's boat for the conversation.

Return to shore after the firewood is spent

When the firewood runs out, turn back toward the shore marker and return to the camp. The next conversation leads to persuading the scholar and organizing the crossing as a group.
