Medicine

Medicine restores HP, but its refills are limited by your stock. Each refill uses medicine you have crafted or bought; when that reserve runs out, you need to restock.

Medicine Chest upgrades increase your carrying capacity and healing bonuses.

Controls & Menu

Press B → Quick Use → Medicine to equip an item. Use X to take the selected medicine. Craft supplies through Bag → Craft → Brew Medicine.

Default controls. Changed your layout? Use Settings → Keyboard & Mouse → Button Settings.

Equip Medicine and Refill Your Charges

Equip a healing item in Bag → Quick Use → Medicine. Owned is your reserve stock; the carried amount, such as 4/4, is how many charges you can use before refilling.

Stand beside an activated Boundary Stone (opens in a new tab) to refill automatically from that stock. On a first visit, use the stone’s activation prompt. Later refills have no separate Rest or Refill button.

At 4/4, you are already full. If Owned is zero, craft or buy more of the equipped medicine. Stock of a different item will not refill it.

Craft or Buy More Medicine

For Hemostatic Powder, open Brew Medicine, select a quantity and choose Craft Medicine. It costs Herb, Meat Scrap and Stamina. Gather herbs and hunt animals for ingredients.

You can also buy ready-made Hemostatic Powder from Xiong Da at Heaven’s Pier, listed under How to Obtain. After restocking, return to an activated Boundary Stone (opens in a new tab) to refill your carried charges.

Collect Medicinal Tales

Check Quest Series Rewards for the book icon and its quantity before tracking a quest. Books are awarded when the series is complete. For Campaigns and Outposts, check an uncleared location’s first-clear rewards.

Medicinal Tales: The Medicine Chest upgrade item. Select it in the Level-up Requirement row to open How to Obtain.

Upgrade the Medicine Chest

Travel south from Blissful Retreat to Evercare Clinic. Speak to Yao Yaoyao outside the entrance and choose Submit Medicinal Tale.

Use the arrows to preview the next level. Under Medicine Chest Effects, the green line marks the improvement to capacity or healing.

Once you have enough books, choose Upgrade using Space on PC or the displayed controller prompt. Refill at a Boundary Stone (opens in a new tab) after increasing capacity.

What’s Stopping You?

Craft Medicine Is Unavailable

Find the red cost in Brew Medicine. Gather the missing Herb or Meat Scrap; if Stamina is the shortage, buying powder from a listed merchant is an alternative. Xiong Da at Heaven’s Pier appears in Hemostatic Powder’s How to Obtain list.

The Medicine Count Did Not Increase

Open Quick Use → Medicine. Compare the current charges with the limit, then check Owned for the equipped medicine. A full 4/4 has no space to refill; empty stock needs crafting or buying. Stock of a different medicine is a separate item.

My Upgrade Did Not Add a Charge

Read the reward for the tier you reached. It may have increased healing instead. The tier preview shows the next capacity increase and how many Tales it costs.

I Have Full HP but Still Feel Unwell

Open the red illness icon near the minimap and check Constitution. An injury or illness can remain after HP recovers. Injuries & Treatment explains the clinic and player-healer options.
