Quests & Objectives
Quest tracks active tasks and their next objectives. Journal records regional activities, completion and rewards. Start with Main Story, marked by the gold icon: it introduces the game’s systems and unlocks other quests as you progress.
Open Quest or Journal
Press J for Quest and track the task you want. Press M to see its marker. Hold V for Wind Sense (opens in a new tab) when searching nearby objects. Journal is under Esc → Story.
Default controls. Changed your layout? Use Settings → Keyboard & Mouse → Button Settings.Quest: Find Your Next Step
Select a task and read its current objective on the right. Use Track Quest to display that instruction during play. A quest name can stay the same while its objective changes.
Match both the name and current instruction in Main Story Tracker. If the objective requires another named task, track that prerequisite first.
- Main Story
The main chapter storyline.
- Lost Chapter
Additional story quests. Some are required to advance Main Story. Groups you may see include:
- Campaign
Adventures through major locations, with exploration, puzzles and boss fights.
- Jianghu Legacy
Regional story adventures, also recorded in Journal's Jianghu Legacy collection.
- Worldly Affairs
Stories about characters, their troubles and their relationships.
- Encounter
Stories discovered through clues, people and events in the world.
- Exploration
Local tasks, activity objectives and tutorials.
Reach the Marker and Find the Object
Find the tracked destination on Map and travel to a nearby unlocked Boundary Stone (opens in a new tab). Follow the marker on foot, checking its height indicator: a target above or below you may need stairs, a cave entrance or a route around a building.
In the search area, use Wind Sense (opens in a new tab), approach the named target and use its interaction prompt. Check Quest for any specific NPC or time requirement.
Journal: Check Regional Progress
Choose a region and collection to browse its entries. Campaign and Jianghu Legacy have collections here; their active quests appear under Lost Chapter in Quest.
- Progress and Rewards
Open an entry for clues, completion status and rewards. Select Claim when a completed entry has a reward available.
What’s Stopping You?
My Main Story asks for a Lost Chapter
Find the quest named in your current objective under Lost Chapter. Complete it, then return to Main Story to see the next step.
I can't find a task
Check its Quest category and the To Be Accepted or Completed sections where available. For a regional activity, also check its collection in Journal.
I Found the Object But Cannot Interact
Read the active Quest objective again. Complete any earlier conversation, inspection or time requirement it still names. Then approach the object closely enough for its interaction prompt to appear.
The Marker Changed to a Different Task
Open Quest and track the intended task again. Check its name on the HUD before following the new marker.
