Press Esc → Solo Mode → Upgrade → Rewards Overview to check Breakthrough rewards (opens in a new tab). For shop chests, open Esc → Season → Shop; press B to open purchased chests in Bag (opens in a new tab).

Note: These instructions use the game’s default controls. To change your button settings, go to Settings → Keyboard & Mouse → Button Settings.

Check Breakthrough Rewards First

Solo Mode Breakthrough (opens in a new tab) rewards can replace outdated equipment without a separate farming run. Open Rewards Overview, select a tier and look for Gear Set rewards, which contain Rare (blue) weapons and armor.

Open Gear Chests You Already Own

You may already own an upgrade in an unopened reward chest. Open Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Common and use Sort, then select an equipment chest to read its contents. A Weapon Chest and a Gear Chest can offer different slots, even at the same tier. Choose Open, make any requested selection and compare the reward in Develop → Gear.

Season Shop: Gear Chests

Season Shop sells tiered Gear Chests for Jade Fish (opens in a new tab). Select a chest and read its tier, offered slots and unlock requirements before buying. Check the price, purchase limit and refresh timer.

Open your purchase in Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Common. Make any requested set or item selection, then compare and equip the reward under Develop → Gear.

Season Catch-up: Gear and Upgrade Supplies

Season Catch-up exchanges Trace Jade (opens in a new tab) for older-tier equipment and development supplies. It helps you replace outdated gear while progressing toward the current tier.

Scroll down the Season Shop menu to Season Catch-up. Select an item, check its tier, Trace Jade (opens in a new tab) cost and stock, then buy only the supplies your current upgrade needs.

Replace Older Gear: Open a Gear Catch-up Chest in Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Common. Complete any reward selection, then compare the piece in Develop → Gear.
Cover Upgrade Costs: Use the material’s How to Obtain list to check whether Season Catch-up sells it. Match the full name and tier before buying. Open any purchased selection chest in Bag (opens in a new tab); Upgrade Materials (opens in a new tab) explains the complete restock process.
Get Trace Jade (opens in a new tab): Complete quests and weekly Engagement activities that award it. You can also recycle eligible older development materials, such as low-level Attunement Stones and Tuning Stones. The recycle preview shows the return before you confirm.

Legendary Gear Exchange: Custom Chests

If you want equipment from a particular set, inspect the custom chests in Legendary Gear Exchange. Check what you can select, whether the equipment slot is random, and the token price before buying.

The Tier 96 example uses Gear Echo: Mirage (opens in a new tab). Select that currency to open How to Obtain; its list names Sword Trial and Journal - Challenge. Open your purchase in Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Common, then compare the equipment in Develop → Gear.

Explore and Clear Challenges

If existing rewards and shop chests do not supply the piece you need, choose a challenge that drops it. Energy is spent to claim repeatable rewards, so check the gear sets, tier and Claim Cost before entering. Quests, world chests and enemy drops also supply gear as you explore.

Outposts While Exploring: Open Journal → Exploration → Outpost to find and track an uncleared location. Clear the enemies and collect the rewards. For repeatable gear rewards, open Wandering Paths → Challenges → Outpost Challenge and check the rewards and Energy cost.
Campaign Challenge: Open Main Menu → Wandering Paths → Challenges → Campaign Challenge. Select an unlocked boss and open its reward boxes to inspect gear drops. Check the tier and Claim Cost before entering.
Group Challenges: Open Wandering Paths → Challenges, then select Sword Trial or Hero’s Realm. Choose an unlocked difficulty and inspect its reward chests. These are additional gear routes when you want multiplayer content; the activity shows its entry requirements and reward limits.

What’s Stopping You?

The Chest Is Locked or Sold Out

Select it to read the unmet condition or refresh timer. An available Campaign or Outpost challenge is another gear source if you have Energy. Quest and exploration rewards are useful while progressing toward the next shop unlock.

The Chest Gave Me Armor Instead of a Weapon

Some chests select a set but randomize the equipment slot. Check the remaining chest descriptions for a slot-selection option. A weapon is only guaranteed when the reward or chest explicitly offers that slot.
