Upgrade Materials
Controls & Menu
Press H → Abilities → Martial Arts (opens in a new tab) → your style → Upgrade or Break Through. Select a missing material in the cost row to open How to Obtain.

When an upgrade cost is red, you are short of that item. Select its icon to read the full name, required quantity and How to Obtain. Similar-looking materials can serve different styles or tiers, so match the name before collecting anything.
Check Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Develop for materials and unopened selection chests you already own. Open a matching chest and choose the required material, then return to the upgrade screen. If you still need more, use its How to Obtain list to choose a shop or activity.
Choose a Shop or Activity for Materials
If you have the currency, a shop purchase is quicker than repeating a fight. Otherwise, check a listed challenge’s reward preview and Energy cost before entering. Match the exact material and tier in either case.
- Season Shop
Open Main Menu → Season → Shop and select the material or selection chest named in How to Obtain. Check its contents and price currency, then buy the quantity your upgrade needs within the available stock.
Products marked Weekly restock each week. Open a purchased selection chest in Bag (opens in a new tab) → Item → Develop and choose the matching material.
- Campaign Challenge
Open Wandering Paths → Challenges → Campaign Challenge, or select Campaign - Challenge in the material’s How to Obtain list. Inspect an unlocked boss’s reward boxes for your note and check the Energy cost. A reward multiplier, where offered, can reduce the number of clears by spending more Energy at once.
- Season Catch-up (opens in a new tab)
Open Season → Shop → Season Catch-up (opens in a new tab) and preview a Custom Martial Note Chest. Exchange Trace Jade (opens in a new tab), then open the chest in Bag (opens in a new tab) to select your note.
Find the Enemies That Drop Your Material
If How to Obtain names an enemy drop, follow that entry to its location on Map. Match the full material name before choosing a route; the examples below cover three enemy groups. Defeat the matching enemies and collect their drops until you have enough.

Find Gear Enhancement Materials
Slot enhancement uses different materials from Martial Arts (opens in a new tab) upgrades. Open Enhance and select its missing item → How to Obtain. Choose a listed gathering location or merchant, then collect or buy the amount shown in the cost.
Use Wind Sense (opens in a new tab) to spot resources in the indicated area. At a merchant, check the price and stock before buying. Return to Gear → Enhance to spend the materials.
What’s Stopping You?
The Shop Is Sold Out and I Have No Energy
Return to the item’s source list and check its other entries, including any conversion option. If none is available with your current resources, keep the material name for your next shop refresh or Energy refill. Your other equipped style or gear slots may use different materials you already own.
I Bought a Chest But Still Have a Shortage
Open the chest in Bag (opens in a new tab) and select the required item. Compare its full name, tier and quantity with the upgrade cost.
