Combat Upgrades
Controls & Menu
Press H → Gear, or Esc → Develop → Gear. Select either weapon slot at the upper left to view your equipment.

If enemies take longer to defeat as you level up, check your weapons first. Replace outdated pieces with suitable weapons from the Gear Tier you have reached. Weapons provide attack attributes; upgrading your Martial Arts is the next priority for skill damage.
- Equip a Better Weapon
Select either weapon slot in Develop → Gear. Check the new weapon’s Gear Tier, attack attributes, set effect and equipment requirements. Equip a suitable replacement for an outdated piece, then check your other weapon slot.
A heavily tuned older weapon may show higher current stats than a new, untuned one. The new weapon has not received those upgrades yet, so check its Gear Tier and base attributes before spending more resources on the old piece.

Martial Arts
After replacing outdated weapons, bring the two Martial Arts you use up to the highest level your character currently allows. Martial Arts determine your weapon skills and their damage. Each style has separate upgrade progress: improving Nameless Sword does not improve Strategic Sword, even though both use swords.
- Upgrade Both Styles
Open Abilities → Martial Arts, select an equipped style and choose Upgrade. Raise it to the highest level currently available to your character. If Break Through is required to raise the style’s cap, check its requirements and material cost, then confirm. Repeat for your second equipped style.

Break Through shows the selected style’s next level cap, talent and upgrade cost. - Learn Your Pairing in Path Tutorial
Open your chosen Path’s Tutorial tab in Develop → Abilities → Path Guide. Start with Basic Tutorial I and II to learn each weapon, then try the unlocked Advanced Tutorial. Follow the on-screen button prompts to practice the combo.
The advanced lesson shows when to switch weapons and how one style’s skills help the other. Practicing this pairing helps you get more out of the two Martial Arts you are upgrading.
Stonesplit-Might: Basic Tutorial I teaches Thundercry Blade, Basic Tutorial II teaches Stormbreaker Spear, and Advanced Tutorial I combines them.
Additional Combat Upgrades (Optional)
Keep your weapons and both equipped Martial Arts up to date first. Then use these systems for extra support. Spend available Talent points; for upgrades that cost Coins (opens in a new tab) or materials, check the cost and improve only as much as you need.
Talents
Talents add permanent bonuses and useful abilities. For a quick stat boost, start with Basic. Select an available node, read its effect and use the activation prompt. Spend the Talent points you have; there is no need to save them while struggling with a fight.
Earn Enlightenment Points from treasure chests and activities such as Jianghu Legacies, Encounters and Worldly Affairs. Filling the Enlightenment bar grants a Talent point. The point total and bar appear at the bottom of the Talent screen.
Some Basic nodes also require a certain Solo Mode level or Martial Mastery, your build’s strength score, as well as earlier Talents. Check the selected node’s Unlock Requirements. If it is locked, improve your weapons and Martial Arts first, then return when you meet the requirement.
Inner Ways
Inner Ways are passive skills that support your attacks without a separate combat button. Equip up to four below your Martial Arts in Abilities. The simplest starting point is your Path’s Combination recommendations; you can choose different effects as you learn your preferred playstyle.
- Choose Effects That Support Your Styles
Open Path Guide → Combination to see the recommended Inner Ways. Select one you own in Abilities → Inner Ways, read its Basic Buff and equip it. An Inner Way’s effect may support particular Martial Arts or attacks, so match it to the styles you actually use.
Basic Buff explains which Martial Art and attacks benefit from this Inner Way. - Upgrade the Inner Way
When you have matching upgrade items, check the next tier’s Breakthrough Gain and Submit Materials, then choose Breakthrough if the effect is useful for your build. If an item is missing, select it → How to Obtain. There is no need to farm every Inner Way while progressing through the story.

Weapon Slots Enhancement
Enhancement improves the slot, so the upgrade stays when you replace its weapon. Open Gear → Enhance, select a weapon slot and compare the attack increase with its Coin and material cost. Make a few affordable upgrades if needed. Higher enhancement levels can become expensive, so keep Coins (opens in a new tab) for your other upgrades.

Weapon Tuning
Tuning is an upgrade you apply to an individual weapon. It uses materials to unlock extra stat lines, such as Physical Attack, so that weapon can deal more damage. Fill the tuning progress bar to unlock the next random stat.
Open Develop → Gear, select your weapon and choose Tune. Use materials that match its Gear Tier and check the Coin cost before confirming. Start with a small investment; you do not need to fill every slot or chase perfect results while progressing through the story.
Arsenal
Replaced gear can still help your character. Arsenal lets you place eligible equipment in a loadout for its Gear Tier and earn passive attribute bonuses from that loadout’s total Mastery. Open the available tier, then select an equipment slot and add a suitable piece you no longer use.
Start with retired gear you already own and use the Arsenal Path recommended in Path Guide → Combination. Each tier has its own slots and progress limit. Check what the slot accepts; Arsenal cannot hold every unwanted item, and you do not need to farm old gear to max it while catching up on the story.
Improvement Guide
If you have time to review your whole build, open Develop → Abilities. On the right, below Current Build, Improvement Guide is the third button after Details and Path Guide. It brings together the game’s upgrade routes so you can check what to improve next.
Use the overview chart to spot an underdeveloped area, then select its upgrade route. Path Guide is beside it if you want to review Profile, Combination or Tutorial. For catching up on the main story, keep suitable weapons and upgraded Martial Arts as your first two checks.
What’s Stopping You?
A Character Level Requirement Blocks the Upgrade
If your level is below the requirement, earn Character EXP from quests. At the level cap, check your next Solo Mode Breakthrough (opens in a new tab) under Main Menu → Solo Mode → Upgrade.
The Materials Are Missing
Select the red material → How to Obtain. Buy or collect the exact item and tier shown in the cost, then open any selection chest in Bag (opens in a new tab).
